Set against the backdrop of a social housing estate in Sydney’s Redfern area, 57 Lawson is a documentary-drama hybrid that employs the talents of its real-life tenants to capture the everyday lives of those inside the iconic tower—from its occupants to the social workers—all in an effort to archive the faces, bodies, sounds and images of a community before it becomes fully obsolete in the midst of Sydney’s social housing crisis and its booming property development industry.
